Dr. Allen Bowling, a nationally renowned neurologist and Multiple Sclerosis specialist in the Denver CO metropolitan area, has a longstanding interest in Multiple Sclerosis and has a passion for providing care to those with Multiple Sclerosis. At the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center, he was the Associate Medical Director from 1997-2002 and the Medical Director from 2003-2007. Dr. Allen Bowling is currently the Medical Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Service at the Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) and Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Colorado-Denver and Health Sciences Center. In the area of Multiple Sclerosis care and treatment, he has published numerous articles in clinical and basic science journals. He is a co-author of The Everything Health Guide to Multiple Sclerosis and Multiple Sclerosis: The Guide to Treatment and Management. In addition, Dr. Bowling is on the editorial board of Multiple Sclerosis (a peer-reviewed professional journal) and has authored publications and provided consultation for many Multiple Sclerosis and professional neurology organizations, including the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF), National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, numerous Multiple Sclerosis societies in Europe and Australia, and the American Academy of Neurology.
In order to obtain experience and knowledge about unconventional and lesser known Multiple Sclerosis treatment options, Dr. Allen Bowling has been involved in research related to nutrition, dietary supplements, and other unconventional therapies for the past 30 years. In this area, he has lectured extensively and is the author of numerous lay and professional articles. He is the author of an authoritative book on the subject, Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Multiple Sclerosis. Also, he is a co-author of Dietary Supplements and Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr. Allen Bowling has many interests outside of science and medicine. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys running, skiing, hiking, and good food.
